The Milwaukee Brewers didn’t score more than four runs in any of their four NLDS games against the San Diego Padres.
Fortunately for them, they didn’t allow more than three in a single contest, winning Game 4 in San Diego 3-1 to win the series by the same score. Next up for Milwaukee is a rematch of the 2025 NLCS with the Los Angeles Dodgers, and if they’re going to advance to their first World Series since 1982, they’ll need Jacob Misiorowski to be Jacob Misiorowski.
“The Miz,” has a compelling argument for being the best pitcher in baseball, and will almost certainly be the National League Cy Young winner. He went 16-5 with a 1.80 ERA and 252 strikeouts across 30 starts in his first full season as a Big Leaguer, but he struggled a bit by his standards in Game 1 of the NLDS. He only allowed two runs and still struck out six Padres but was yanked after throwing 88 pitches through four innings.
Likely facing off against Tarik Skubal in Game 1, runs could be at a premium for both teams to begin the NLCS.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Misiorowski is the first Brewer to finish with the most strikeouts in baseball since the Wild Card Era began in 1995. With that being said, can you name every MLB strikeout champion of the Wild Card Era?
Good luck!
