The 'Most 200-hit MLB seasons' quiz

Happy 66th birthday to the late, great San Diego Padres legend, Tony Gwynn!

Tony Gwynn played his entire 20-year Major League career with the San Diego Padres, making 15 All-Star games, winning eight batting titles, seven Silver Sluggers and five Gold Gloves along with the 1999 Roberto Clemente Award en route to the Hall of Fame.

Gwynn was one of the best contact hitters in baseball history, eclipsing 200 hits five times and finishing with the most hits in all of baseball on five occasions as well. While he never won a ring in his time with the Padres, he was his productive self in his two World Series appearances. He went a combined 13-for-35 in nine games at the Fall Classic for a career average of .371 compared to his career regular season mark of .338.

“Mr. Padre,” retired after the 2001 season, and he still holds franchise records in hits (3,141), RBIs (1,138), doubles (543), and stolen bases (319). He was inducted into the Pro Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007, and passed away in 2014 due to cancer complications.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Gwynn is one of 39 players in MLB history with four or more 200-hit seasons. How many of those players can you name in five minutes?

Good luck!
