For the last 14 years, no player has represented the Cleveland Guardians better than Jose Ramirez. Now, nobody in history has ever represented them more often, either. With his start against the Royals on Monday, Ramirez broke a record set by Terry Turner in 1918 by playing in his 1,620th game for the club.
Despite the achievement, 2026 hasn’t been too kind to Ramirez so far. He went 0-for-2 with two walks, and through 11 games the six-time Silver Slugger is hitting just .146 with one home run and five RBI. But coming off of his fifth-consecutive All-Star appearance in 2025, Guardians fans should have plenty of patience with the man the team just gave a lucrative contract extension in January
At 33 years old, Ramirez currently sits second all-time in Cleveland history in both homers (286) and RBI (954), so he should easily join both the 300-home-run and 1,000-RBI clubs if he remains healthy.
