The Los Angeles Dodgers are two-time World Series defending champions, but that doesn’t mean they’re complacent.
The Dodgers are bolstering their bullpen by signing free agent closer Edwin Diaz to a three-year, $69 million contract. Diaz is coming off of a 28-save season, recording a 1.63 ERA with 98 strikeouts in 66 ⅓ innings in 2025. Despite winning the World Series, the Dodgers bullpen turned into a major concern for manager Dave Roberts. LA relievers allowed the sixth-most runs in MLB (312), tied with the Phillies for the seventh-most blown saves (27) and surrendered 81 home runs. Tanner Scott, who the Dodgers signed last offseason, led all of baseball with 10 blown saves on his own.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Diaz has been one of the best closers in baseball since 2018, when he led the Major Leagues with 57 saves and a 1.96 ERA with 124 strikeouts in 73 ⅓ innings with the Seattle Mariners. With that being said, can you name the MLB pitchers with the most saves in a single season?
Good luck!
