The 'National League batting champs' quiz

It took a second late-inning comeback in as many games, but Team Venezuela is heading to the World Baseball Classic final.

Team Italy took an early 2-0 lead that they held thanks in part to a strong four-inning performance from starting pitcher Aaron Nola, who gave up just a solo home run to Eugenio Suarez and left with a 2-1 lead.

But in the top of the seventh inning, star former 2023 National League MVP Ronald Acuna Jr. drove in Andres Gimenez with an infield single. Maikel Garcia and Luis Arraez followed his single up with singles of their own to drive in Jackson Churio and Acuna Jr. and give Venezuela a 4-2 advantage they’d never relinquish.

The Venezuelans will face Team USA in their first-ever WBC championship game, with first pitch set for March 18 at 8:00pm EST.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Arraez – a three-time batting champion – has maintained his reputation as a high-average hitter at the 2026 WBC with a .348 batting average in 23 at-bats. With that being said, can you name every National League batting champion since 1993?

Good luck!
