The Phillies Bounced Back To Close A Bizarre Series

It wasn’t pretty, but the Philadelphia Phillies managed to not get swept in their three-game set against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

After two blowout losses, the Phillies bounced back in the finale and put together a blowout of their own, scoring 18 runs and walking out of town with an 18-2 win.

In each of the three games, the winning team scored at least 12 runs.

The Phillies had a big lead in the first game that they ultimately squandered for a 13-7 loss.

But this bizarre series has come to an end, with the Phillies managing to stay afloat and bouncing back for a key victory.

There were 55 runs scored in the #Phillies–#D-backs three-game series at Chase Field, with the winning team scoring at least 12 runs each game.

Phils Close Out Tough Series With W

There’s nothing like a nice blowout win after losing two tough games in a row.

The Phillies got to experience that last night.

It was their turn for a laugher this time, and they did not let up on Wednesday.

Philadelphia put together two four-run innings and put up a seven spot in the top of the eighth.

That’s a good way to put two tough losses behind you.

With the win, the Phillies improved to 73-58 on the season and prevented the San Diego Padres from taking over the second National League Wild Card spot.

They got 6.1 solid innings from left-hander Bailey Falter, who allowed just one run on five hits and struck out six batters.

This certainly was a bizarre series for Philadelphia, who fell victim to an offensive surge from D’Backs rookie Corbin Carroll in the first two games.

But they took care of business in the finale and prevented a sweep.

They’ll now head to San Francisco to take on the struggling San Francisco Giants.

Kyle Gibson will get the ball in the opener.
