Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh hasn’t had the season he’d hoped to follow up his record-setting 60-home run season in 2025.
But he did give the league a reminder of who he can still be, blasting three home runs in a 9-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies.
The performance brought Raleigh up to 17 home runs and 51 RBI in 98 games this season, with the switch-hitting slugger missing 29 games with an oblique injury.
Despite Raleigh’s immense struggles this year and Seattle sitting six-games under .500, they’re just three behind the American League West-leading Texas Rangers in a division that could send a champion with a losing record to the MLB playoffs. If Raleigh is able to capture his 2025 form for the rest of 2026, the Mariners could work their way into the postseason field.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Raleigh’s 60 blasts in 2025 set a record for the most by a catcher and the most by a switch-hitter in one season. With that being said, can you name every switch-hitter with a 35-home run season?
Good luck!
