Joe Torre is a baseball lifer.
As a player he won a batting title, Gold Glove, was selected to nine All-Star games and named the 1971 MVP with the St. Louis Cardinals. As a manager he led the New York Yankees dynasty of the late 1990's and early 2000's with six American League pennants and four World Series titles en route to 2014 Hall-of-Fame induction. He hasn't been in the dugout as a coach since 2010, but that will change at this year's MLB All-Star Game in Atlanta.
Torre -- who currently works as a Special Assistant to the Commissioner -- will be an honorary coach on Aaron Boone's American League staff at the Midsummer Classic. Torre managed Boone when he hit his legendary walk-off home run in the 11th inning of Game 7 of the 2003 ALCS against the Boston Red Sox.
