The Yankees And Mets Both Set NYC History
Jim Cowsert-USA TODAY Sports

The entire city of New York has had a reason to be excited this MLB season.

After some big offseason moves, both the New York Yankees and the New York Mets looked like legitimate postseason contenders.

Regardless of if you’re a Yankees fan or a Mets fan, it’s a fun time for baseball in the city that never sleeps.

Both teams have been pretty dominant this season, with each of them at 98 wins as of now.

In fact, it’s the first time in baseball history that both the Yankees and the Mets have won at least 98 games in the same season.

Mets, Yanks Make NYC History

Both could end up being division champions as well.

The Yankees have already secured the AL East title.

The Mets could still win the NL East, but they’re just one loss or an Atlanta Braves win away from missing out on the division title.

Regardless, these two teams have been absolute powerhouses in 2022.

Both teams have a chance to win 100 games.

The Yankees have three games left to accomplish that, as do the Mets.

Everything is obviously magnified in New York, and with both teams headed to the postseason, there’s a chance that we could end up seeing a Subway Series for the Fall Classic.

The last time that happened was 2000.

The Yankees won that series in five games.

But it’s going to be fun to see what happens with these two teams in October.

Both of them have what it takes to make a deep run and bring a title home to New York.

They’ve both been dominant this season, and now it’s time to see if they can take the next step and win a championship.
