New Angels manager Ron Washington has sparked life into the organization since being hired. He is a blend of infectious energy with extreme optimism that has helped bring some hope back to the franchise.

While the Angels remain hopeful in their chances to re-sign two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani, the team is continuing to go about their business. They want to upgrade the roster, and they are expected to be aggressive in doing so this winter.

On Tuesday night, the team even signed reliever Luis Garcia on a one-year deal.

Before that move at the Winter Meetings, Washington spoke about how he wants to get the Angels back on top this coming year. His quotes should have Halos fans very excited for the 2024 season.

The Angels aren't seen by many as a team that will likely contend next year, but with some stability and guidance, anything can happen. They still have star outfielder Mike Trout on the roster — who GM Perry Minasian confirmed would not be traded — and third baseman Anthony Rendon who will hopefully be healthy in 2024.

If they are able to get healthy seasons from those two, it could change everything for this team. Washington is hopeful of that fact, and he doesn't plan on letting this team underperform once again.
