Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Jackson Jobe began rounding into form this season at the ripe age of 22 years old, giving Tigers fans hope for a strong season and potentially a strong postseason from the Irving, Texas native.

Jobe showed a dazzling array of pitches en route to a 4-1 record and a 4.22 ERA, numbers that he continued to work to improve upon as the season went on.

With 39 strikeouts in 49 innings pitched, many believed that Jobe had another gear or two to reach heading toward the second half of the season for manager AJ Hinch's team.

On Tuesday, the Tigers revealed a key update on the rising Tigers star's injury status that caught the attention of thousands of fans.

"#Tigers medical update: Jackson Jobe underwent ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction surgery in his right elbow, performed Monday by Dr. Keith Meister," reporter Evan Petzold wrote on X

The surgery announcement was part of a flurry of eight updates involving well known Tigers players including OF Matt Vierling and RHP Reese Olson Tuesday.

The Tigers took on the Pittsburgh Pirates at Comerica Park Tuesday in hopes of improving its MLB best 46 win total on the season.

Detroit sent Casey Mize to the hill against Bailey Falter and Mize was sharp early, striking out three batters in 1.1 innings of work.

Neither team recorded a hit as of the top of the second inning as the two teams felt each other out early during Tuesday's game in the Motor City.
