Even amidst a tough stretch of games and a series sweep at the hands of the rival San Francisco Giants, a lot of things have gone right for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Sure, Walker Buehler may be down for the next couple of months, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t exciting things that are about to happen for this team.

Just ask Tony Gonsolin, who just so happens to have the best ERA in all of baseball at 1.42.

The right-hander has been absolutely dominant, posting an 8-0 record in 12 starts.

Sarah Langs of MLB.com tweeted a list of the lowest ERAs through 12 starts by Dodgers pitchers all-time, and Gonsolin finds himself on that list.

Gonsolin On Another Level

Gonsolin went from being a dominant reliever to now becoming one of baseball’s top starters.

There’s just something about how the Dodgers do things.

They have a ton of talented pitchers on their active roster and in their minor league system that can make a difference, with Gonsolin being one of them.

Here’s a guy who has really evolved in his career.

When he came up, he was primarily a reliever, but he has now turned himself into one of the best starters in baseball.

Each year he’s finished with an ERA below four.

So, it’s certainly no fluke that Gonsolin is dominating the way he is.

He’s quickly turned himself into a pitcher that any hitter would dread facing on the day he’s pitching.

Again, there’s just something about how the Dodgers draft and develop their talent and how their pitchers seem to all turn into aces.

We’ll see what the rest of the season has in store for Gonsolin as we approach the midpoint of the 2022 baseball calendar.
