Good news came across the wire concerning the health of a potential trade target for the Cincinnati Reds.
Eugenio Suarez received multiple tests on his hand that was hit by a fastball Monday night. Results from both a CT scan and an MRI were negative. This follows an X-Ray that was conducted Monday night that was also negative.
Suarez was hit in the right hand by a 95.6 MPH fastball from Detroit Tigers relief pitcher Will Vest in the ninth inning of Monday’s game.
Suarez is not in the starting lineup for the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
He is widely seen as the best hitter available at this trade deadline, so the Reds weren’t the only team exhaling on Tuesday.
The MLB trade deadline is Thursday, July 31 at 6 p.m. ET.
Some good news: @Dbacks 3B Eugenio Suarez said he had a CT scan and MRI today and both were negative. No breaks.
