The Toronto Blue Jays and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. have been in negotiations for quite some time now and it looks like they are finally closing in on a deal, according to reports.
The Blue Jays have been in a tough situation with Guerrero as they have been trying to sign him for a bargain price, and due to the length of these negotiations, many believed they might end up trading him.
Guerrero has made it clear for the past few months that he would love to stay in Toronto but wants to get at least $450 million from his contract extension, which the Blue Jays did not seem ready to offer him.
According to a recent report, things have changed as the Blue Jays and Guerrero are apparently in negotiations for a contract between $450 million and $550 million for his extension.
Breaking news: The signing of Anthony Santander with Toronto today guaranteed Vladimir Guerrero Jr. that the team wants to win and do not be surprised that before Spring Training begins he is signing a contract with the Toronto Blue Jays of over 450 million to 550 million
Some fans are on the Blue Jays' side as they do not believe that Guerrero is worth that much money, while others believe he will get even more money if they let him go to free agency.
Guerrero is coming off an unbelievable season in 2024 and has proved that he deserves at least $450 million as he finished the season with 30 home runs, 103 RBI and a .323 batting average.
Clearly, the Blue Jays need to get a deal done with Guerrero as he is the face of the franchise and will continue to be their best player for many years to come.
