Trea Turner Sends Message After Phillies Loss

Trea Turner had a simple message for the Philadelphia Phillies after another frustrating loss left their postseason hopes unresolved.

The Phillies fell 5-1 to the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday, leaving them with three games remaining in the regular season. After the defeat, Turner acknowledged the team’s inconsistent season while pointing out that the opportunity to reach October remains in front of them.

“It’s how it’s been all year for us, really,” Turner said, via Phillies Nation’s Destiny Lugardo. “It’s been a tough year, ups and downs. We’re in a spot to take care of business, win a couple games to get in. We haven’t done it yet, but we still have a chance.”

Turner went 0-for-4 in the loss as Philadelphia struggled to generate offense against Milwaukee. The shortstop has also endured an uneven 2026 season, entering the final weekend with a .239 batting average, .296 on-base percentage and .377 slugging percentage.

He has still provided some power and speed, with 19 home runs and 21 stolen bases heading into the final series.

The Phillies also had to deal with an injury scare involving Luis Arraez, who left Thursday’s game with a left ankle injury. Philadelphia’s infield depth could become increasingly important if Arraez is unable to return quickly.

Despite the latest setback, Turner emphasized that the Phillies still control part of their path into October. The club now turns its attention to the final three games, where it will need to turn that opportunity into results.

For Turner and the Phillies, there is little time left to dwell on what went wrong during the regular season. The focus is now on finishing the job.
