The media world lost a good one this weekend with the passing of longtime baseball writer Scott Miller, who reportedly died Saturday at the age of 62.

Miller, who covered the MLB for more than three decades, was beloved and respected by both fans and colleagues over the course of his outstanding career. And it didn't take long for tributes to pour in from around the sports world.

"Baseball lost a giant," Bob Nightengale shared. "Scott Miller was a brilliant writer and an even better human. His gift for storytelling embodied his kind soul and heart. I loved him, and so did all blessed to know him. Please keep Kim, Gretchen, and family in prayer."

"This is so awful," ESPN's Jeff Passan added. "Scott Miller was as nice of a guy as you'd find in the press box — and a very talented writer to boot. A sad, sad day."

"Scott Miller's talent and dedication as a journalist and writer were surpassed only by his kindness and capacity to connect with people across the baseball spectrum," the MLBPA stated. "The Players Association extends its sympathies to his wife, Kim, his daughter, Gretchen, and all the others whose lives he touched through the years."

"Very sad about this. Scott was an incredible teammate at CBS and great writer. Best to Kim, Gretchen and the whole Miller family," Jon Heyman posted.

"Crushing news," National Baseball Hall of Fame president Josh Rawitch said. "Losing Scott Miller just isn't fair. Your favorite writers' best friend. Kind to everyone, even a young PR guy like me back in the day. Search his name and read the tweets. An amazing legacy he's left behind. Will be thinking of his family."

Few sports writers were as revered by their peers as Miller was. Our thoughts go out to his family and loved ones; as well as all of the lives he touched through his tremendous work. May he rest in peace.
