Twins activate Max Kepler from injured list

The Minnesota Twins will be getting a boost to their lineup as they gear up for the postseason.

Minnesota announced Saturday that they've activated Max Kepler from the injured list. The right fielder returns after suffering a left adductor strain.

Although Kepler has taken a step back from his breakout 2019 campaign, he's still having a decent year amid the shortened season. The 27-year-old is slashing .220/.322/.431 with 18 RBIs and seven home runs.

At 29-18, Minnesota is a lock for the postseason, but they're competing with the Chicago White Sox and Cleveland Indians for the top spot in the American League Central. With Kepler back, the Twins are in a much better position to compete for the first spot in the division.

Minnesota, who is just one game behind Chicago for the top spot, will play the Indians on Sunday before traveling to Chicago to take on the White Sox.
