Twins score 10 runs to outlast pesky A's in Oakland

The Twins started the night in Oakland with two runs in each of the first, second and third innings and ended the night with one run in each of the seventh, eight and ninth innings and they outlasted the Athletic's 10-7 on Saturday. 

Kyle Farmer finished a triple shy of the cycle and his solo homer in the seventh gave the Twins the 8-7 lead and proved to be the go-ahead and winning run. 

Michael A. Taylor had two hits including his 11th homer of the season, and Carlos Correa was again batting leadoff and finished with three hits to up his average to .233. He also drove in a pair of runs. 

Minnesota gave Pablo Lopez a 6-0 lead but the All-Star right-hander was pounded and wound up giving up seven earned runs and was pulled after 5 2/3 innings. He allowed eight hits, walked three and struck out seven. 

The win puts the Twins back above .500 at 47-46, 1 1/2 games ahead of second place Cleveland in the American League Central Division. Cleveland lost 2-0 to the Rangers on Saturday.
