The Detroit Tigers have four players ranked inside the top 100 prospects by ITD. They are Max Clark, Jackson Jobe, Jace Jung, and Kevin McGonigle. The Tigers have two prospects who were named to the future game. One of them is Clark, who ranks just outside the Top 10 in ITD’s top 100. The other is infielder Hao-Yu Lee.

Clark was chosen in the first round, third overall out of high school last year. The 19-year-old outfielder is taking his time in Lakeland as he still has a long road ahead before making it to the show. This season Clark is slashing .269./373/.380 with a .753 OPS, 14 extra-base hits, leads the FSL with 48 RBIs, and an impressive 23 stolen bases. Clark’s development has taken a step forward this year after a limited, but sluggish 2023 campaign. It appears as though he is getting comfortable at the plate.
Congratulations to Hao-Yu Lee! He’s headed to the 2024 All-Star Futures Game in Texas. #RepDetroit pic.twitter.com/evnyWc8KIy

Lee was acquired at the deadline last year in a trade that sent Michael Lorenzen to Philadelphia . The once top-five prospect in the Phillies’ organization has had a nice year at the plate. He is slashing 295/.370/.508 with a .877 OPS, 29 extra-base hits, 44 RBIs, and has shown solid speed with 12 stolen bases. There’s quite a bit of infield depth in the Tigers’ farm system, but Lee is rising toward the top with his play in Erie. If Jace Jung gets called up anytime soon, don’t be surprised if Lee gets promoted to Toledo.
Kevin McGonigle shoots a single to the outfield, and as @JoePuccio_ says, it extends his hitting streak to 8 games. pic.twitter.com/s3f21mmkIr

Add McGonigle to the list of infield prospects who could, and probably should be called up soon. I’m somewhat surprised he hasn’t already made his way to Erie. You could have made a great case for McGonigle to represent the Tigers in the Futures Game, but he was snubbed. He’s slashing .326/.407/.472 with a .879 OPS, 19 extra-base hits, 30 RBIs, and, one of my favorite stats, he’s drawn 29 walks and only 21 strikeouts.
