Tyler Glasnow Offers Honest Reflection on First Season With Dodgers

Many things went right for Tyler Glasnow in his first year with the Los Angeles Dodgers, from an All-Star Game appearance to a World Series win, but it was far from perfect.

"It didn't necessarily go as planned. Obviously the injury stuff (was a big factor)," Glasnow told MLB Network on Wednesday.

"The biggest goal is to stay healthy and be able to contribute in October was the biggest thing for me, so that's the game plan this year. I think when I was healthy, I pitched well, but I still think I can do better than that."

Glasnow signed a five-year, $135 million deal to join the Dodgers in 2024 after six years with the Tampa Bay Rays. He went 9-6 with a 3.49 ERA and 168 strikeouts with the Dodgers.

The 31-year-old said he worked on his mechanics this offseason to stay healthy and improve. He also said working with the coaches weekly helped him build consistency.

This season, Glasnow will be part of an anticipated six-pitcher starting rotation for the Dodgers. Los Angeles has depth among starters, which includes Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Shohei Ohtani, Blake Snell, and Roki Sasaki.

"I'm kind of indifferent," Glasnow added. "I think over the last few years, the Rays have done it a bit, too. The Dodgers did it last year sometimes with the built-in off days.

"Sometimes, it was like seven days. So, in terms of consistency, a five-day schedule is great. But given what I've been going through with the injury stuff, I think it probably makes a lot of sense. So, I just have to adapt and do it all season long."
