The 2025 Milwaukee Brewers have the best record in baseball. Their 97 wins are the most in franchise history. They don’t have a 30-homer hitter or a position player who made the All-Star Game. They also finished third in MLB in run scoring. Abiding by the character of Brew Crew ball, this edition of the team is a well-rounded collection of “guys.” For whatever it’s worth, one piece of statistical trivia highlights just how historically balanced they are.
Via Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:
This is maybe the ultimate “do with it what you want” stat:
In the history of the National League, only 3 teams have ever had 7 players with an OPS in the .700s (min. 400 PA). 2 of those teams are the Milwaukee Brewers within the last 4 years, including 2025.

Those seven players:
That list could also include Andrew Vaughn, who spent only half a season in Milwaukee but finished the year at .719 (.869 in 221 at-bats with the Brewers).
Incredibly, no one on the team cracked .800. One could consider that as evidence of the Brewers’ lack of a star, but it also demonstrates a bizarre degree of parity.
Those same seven names also constitute a list of Brewers with a WAR of 2.0 or better, another indication of the all-around value on the roster.
Yelich leads the team with a $24 million salary. The next closest payee above is Contreras at $6 million. Turang, Collins, Frelick, and Durbin all make under $800,000. If there’s one thing the Mets learned, it’s that you can’t buy a playoff berth.
Who was the other Brew Crew squad to crack Hogg’s category? That would be the 2022 team that won 86 games but didn’t even make the playoffs. That roster included eight members of the .700 OPS club, led by Hunter Renfroe at .807.
Hopefully the guys in ’25 can manufacture the postseason success the franchise has been dying for despite its run of regular season triumphs. Indeed, the Brewers are seeking their first series win since 2018, their first World Series berth since 1982, and the first WS win in franchise history.
