The Tennessee Vols dropped a tough series to the Vanderbilt Commodores this weekend, losing the rubber game of the three-game series on Sunday evening in Knoxville.

Things got chippy between the bitter in-state rivals after the game, with players from both teams mixing it up on the field immediately following the final out.

There's clearly no love lost between the Vols and the Commodores.

Vanderbilt's social media team got in on the fun as well, taking a couple of shots at Tennessee via Twitter/X.com.

"Our series. Our State," read one tweet.

The Vanderbilt baseball account also sent out a tweet with the words "We don't do orange" along with a photo of a bat smashing a pumpkin.

The "We don't do orange" quip is a reference to a comment that former Vanderbilt standout Dansby Swanson made in 2022 during his final season with the Atlanta Braves

Tennessee's had the upper hand in this rivalry in recent years -- this is the Vols' first series loss to Vanderbilt since 2021 -- but the Commodores certainly made a statement on Sunday via their win against UT.

That statement?

Vanderbilt baseball isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
