Toronto Blue Jays superstar Vladimir Guerrero Jr. got very honest in a recent interview were he called out exactly what the team needs to change if they plan on winning more games this season.

The main story right now has been around how Guerrero turned down a $500 million offer from the Blue Jays before Spring Training, but it looks like the Toronto superstar is more focused on winning in 2025 than his contract negotiations.

Blue Jays Vladimir Guerrero Jr. calls out what the team needs to do differently to win this season

During a recent interview, Guerrero did not hold back on what he thinks needs to happen for the Blue Jays to be a winning baseball team in 2025, as he does not want a repeat of last season.

Guerrero stated that the team needs to be better in the clubhouse since last season the mentality in there caused a portion of their downfall; but Guerrero did add that things have been very different so far in Spring Training.

"We have to get better in the clubhouse," Guerrero Jr. said. "I can say we're way different than last year. I can see in spring training, everybody's together, everybody talks, everybody's doing [their] work, preparation, every time. To me, the kids [are] better in the clubhouse, and I think we're better this year than last year." -Guerrero

The Blue Jays star also stated that the way to win is by communicating between teammates on how they can improve throughout the season and not getting down on each other when times are rough.

"I just say communication. We're trying to do something [to help the team], or we're trying to help [our teammates], but we [don't] talk directly with that [person]," Guerrero Jr. added about what needs to change the most this season.

"We go to the coach, [we should] go directly to [the person], old school. I think right now we're a unit, and when we're a unit, we can win some games."

Despite all the contract talk, Guerrero is clearly focused on winning this season with the Blue Jays, especially if 2025 ends up being his last year in Toronto.

The Blue Jays are off to a great start but unfortunately Grapefruit league does not mean anything, they will need to show up when it counts which starts on March 27.
