Watch: Astros' Yordan Alvarez goes yard twice in ALDS Game 1 win over Twins

Yordan Alvarez kicks it up a notch when the calendar turns to October.

On Saturday, Alvarez went deep twice, accounting for half of the Houston Astros' runs in a 6-4 win over the Minnesota Twins in Game 1 of the American League Division Series.

Alvarez's first bomb came in the first, a two-run shot, increasing the Astros advantage to 3-0 after three innings.

After the Twins had cut the Astros lead to 5-4 in the seventh, Alvarez answered, smashing a solo shot off Twins reliever Caleb Thielbar to give Houston a little cushion.

For Alvarez, he increases his career postseason home run total to eight. Meanwhile, he's hit four-round trippers in Game 1's.

Alvarez and the defending World Series Champion Astros take a 1-0 series advantage over the Twins. They'll look to take a commanding 2-0 lead when they host the Twins for Game 2 at Minute Maid Park Sunday at 8:03 p.m. ET.
