Watch: Blue Jays star uses glove to record out in unusual way

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich hit a hard groundball in the infield and in a heads-up play Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr, who couldn't get the ball out of his glove, threw the whole glove to pitcher Trevor Richards who was covering the base.

A rare occurrence, the play caused Guerrero to throw his hand up in disbelief after the out was recorded.

Guerrero, The 2022 American League Gold Glove winner at first base has another clip to add to his highlight reel as he looks to repeat as award winner in 2023.

The play has been made multiple times but mostly from the pitcher's mound with San Francisco Giants pitcher Terry Mulholland making a similar play in 1986 versus the New York Mets.

Maybe the most famous occurrence was when New York Yankees pitcher Orlando Hernandez made a play versus the New York Mets when shortstop Rey Ordonez hit a hopper back to the mound, forcing Hernandez to toss his whole glove for the out.

Baseball is a random sport, and you never know what you will see nightly.
