Watch: Bob Costas calls Guardians ace Shane Bieber 'Justin Bieber'

It sounds like Bob Costas has been listening to a bit too much pop radio.

While Justin Bieber is one of the most famous singers in North America, if not the world, Cleveland Guardians ace Shane Bieber has become a pretty well-known name to baseball fans in recent years too. The 27-year-old pitcher is a two-time All-Star (2019, 2021) and captured the AL Cy Young Award during the 2020 pandemic-shortened season.

Bieber the baseball player went 13-8 with a 2.88 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 198 strikeouts in an even 200 innings pitched during the 2022 campaign.

He will not earn a decision in Game 2 of the ALDS on Friday, as he departed the contest in the sixth inning of a 2-2 tie. Bieber ended the day allowing two runs (both on a first-inning home run to Giancarlo Stanton) on five hits with three walks and seven strikeouts.
