Watch: David Wright, Jose Reyes shown on kiss cam during game

David Wright’s final start of his career provided plenty of emotional moments — and also a humorous one.

The New York Mets honored their captain by having Wright start for the first time in two years. His daughter threw out the first pitch of the game to him, and then Wright took the field and received an ovation from the fans. The Mets also honored Wright’s request to have Jose Reyes start the game at shortstop since the two had manned the left side of the Mets’ infield for so many years earlier in Wright’s career.

At one point the two were shown on the kiss cam at Citi Field and hugged:

Wright batted third and walked in his first at-bat. He fouled out in the bottom of the fourth, which marked his final at-bat. Wright was subbed out of the game after that, concluding his once-outstanding career.
