Watch: Giants play-by-play broadcaster adds new job to his resume

Since 2003 broadcaster Dave Flemming has handled the play-by-play duties for the San Francisco Giants. On Monday night Flemming took on a different role, serving as the Giants' batboy.

Serving his punishment for finishing last in the team's fantasy football league, Flemming was able to avoid wearing the Giants uniform that current Giants outfielder Austin Slater and former Giants outfielder Steven Duggar both had to endure in 2022 as part of their fantasy football punishment.

"I gotta hustle man, you do not want to get in the way of the game," Flemming said during a mid-game interview. "I'm going to be icing down after this. I may not make it up for the fourth inning."

Winner of an Emmy award in 2013 for his coverage of the only perfect game in Giants history thrown by former pitcher Matt Cain, Flemming has been on the call for seven no-hitters in his career.

He was also a part of the broadcast for the three World Series titles that the Giants won from 2010-2014, including this famous call of former Giants shortstop Edgar Renteria's 2010 World Series clenching home run.

He also was on the side of some unfortunate history as well. Flemming's microphone cut out just as Barry Bonds passed Babe Ruth for second on the all-time home run list with No. 715.

Listeners were only able to hear the first few seconds of the call, robbing him of a call that would forever be a piece of MLB history.

Flemming, 47, is already one of the more accomplished broadcasters in baseball and should continue to add to his impressive resume during his time calling the action.

While his time as a batboy will hopefully be over, you can bet that he will give a better effort in the upcoming fantasy football season.
