Watch: This Oliver Drake pitch had insane movement
Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

A pitch thrown by Oliver Drake during Saturday’s Tampa Bay Rays-Chicago White Sox game has gone viral thanks to its absolutely insane movement.

Drake threw an 84-mph splitter (we think) to strike out Leury Garcia in the 8th inning. The pitch had crazy screwball-like movement and seemed to reverse almost the width of the plate:

That was just crazy to watch.

Drake’s repertoire mostly includes a four-seam fastball and splitter. The 32-year-old from Navy has a 4.43 career ERA but was great in a stint with the Twins last year and has been solid for the Rays this season. His current 11.19 K/9 is the best of his career.
