The Milwaukee Brewers selected just two collegiate bats in the 2023 MLB draft.  Brock Wilken was selected in the first round (18th overall) and Mike Boeve in the second round (54th overall).  Both are currently playing in High-A for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers and hit back-to-back home runs.

VIDEO: Top Milwaukee Brewers 2023 draft picks Brock Wilken and Mike Boeve hit back-to-back home runs.

This game was Mike Boeve’s debut with the Timber Rattlers in which he finished the game 2-4 with three runs batted in, two runs scored, and one walk.  He was playing in the Arizona Complex League prior to being assigned to Wisconsin.  His latest home run gives him five long balls in his first 10 games.

Brock Wilken now has six games with the Timber Rattlers under his belt.  During this stretch he has hit .333/.583/.533.  In 15 at-bats he has collected five hits, drawn nine free passes, has one home run, and has struck out just four times.

These two top draft picks should be fun to watch.  Both were drafted as third baseman and in this game Brock Wilken played third base while Mike Boeve was the designated hitter.  Boeve did play some first base as well in college, so if these two continue to advance together defensive positioning will be one thing to monitor.
