Aaron Judge has been smashing home runs all season. In fact, he's hitting baseballs at a historic pitch.

Judge's home run tenacity has him gunning for history. No, he likely won't beat Barry Bonds' 73 in a single season or Mark McGwire's 70, but those were different times for baseball. In fact. no MLB player has hit 60 home runs in a single season since the league started testing for steroids in 2003.

Heading into tonight's matchup with the Boston Red Sox, Judge found himself oh-so-close with 20 games left on the schedule after this one.

Sitting at 55 home runs in the top of the sixth, Judge got one closer with an absolute rocket to right-center field at historic Fenway Park.

An inning later, Judge gave the Green Monster a house call with home run No. 57 of his season.

With 20 games to go, it feels almost certain that Judge will tie or break the American League record of 61 home runs in a single season, which was set by Roger Maris in 1961. First, though, he's well on his way to passing Babe Ruth's 60, which the Great Bambino did in a 154-game season in 1927.

McGwire and Bonds may not be passable, but who knows? Judge is certainly on a heater.
