With Monday's game postponed due to rain, the Chicago White Sox and Washington Nationals will play a straight doubleheader on Tuesday. Each team can add a 27th player for the twin bill, and the White Sox have appointed pitcher Justin Anderson to the roster.
Anderson appeared in two games for the White Sox earlier this season. The right-hander allowed two runs on two hits and three walks with one strikeout in 2.1 innings.
The 31-year-old has spent most of the season with Triple-A Charlotte. In 16 innings across 14 minor-league games, Anderson has a 2.81 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and 22 strikeouts against just four walks.
Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader begins at 3:40 PM CT with the second contest following 30-45 minutes after. Chris Flexen will start the opener for the White Sox and Erick Fedde will take the ball in the nightcap. Both games will air on NBC Sports Chicago.
