White Sox Injury Update: Yoan Moncada Goes Down in Severe Pain, Exits Early vs. Guardians
Peter Aiken-USA TODAY Sports

The injury woes just keep piling up for the Chicago White Sox. With Eloy Jimenez and Luis Robert Jr. already on the shelf, Yoan Moncada is the latest afflicted player. The Sox' third baseman suffered a lower-body injury and exited early from Tuesday's game against the Cleveland Guardians.

With one out in the second inning, Moncada struck a ground ball down the third base line and tried to leg out a hit. However, he collapsed in pain just before reaching the base and was attended to by White Sox trainers and coaches. Moncada was helped off the field and into the dugout.

Before Tuesday's game, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reported that Moncada was previously playing with soreness in his hip/groin area.

The White Sox said Moncada exited the game with a left adductor strain and will undergo further evaluation on Wednesday.
