The Chicago White Sox continue to be crushed by injuries during the 2022 season. The latest victim is young slugging outfielder Andrew Vaughn.
The #WhiteSox have placed outfielder Andrew Vaughn on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to May 2) with a bruised right hand and recalled infielder Danny Mendick from Class AAA Charlotte.

The 24-year-old former third overall draft pick has missed the team's last five games since being drilled by a pitch during Chicago's game against the Los Angeles Angels last Friday. Vaughn was off to a solid start this spring, going 15-for-60 with four home runs and 12 RBI.
The White Sox have been without two-time All-Star starting pitcher Lance Lynn all season due to a knee injury, while one-time All-Star Lucas Giolito missed some time in April with abdominal tightness, but he has since returned to the rotation.
Chicago appears to have high hopes for Vaughn, as it was reported last month that the Sox weren't interested in moving the Santa Rosa, Calif. native in a potential trade for Oakland Athletics ace Frankie Montas.
