Prior to tonight’s ballgame against the Minnesota Twins, the Chicago White Sox made several roster moves. Closer Liam Hendriks has been reinstated from the 15-day IL. Outfielder Adam Engel has also been reinstated.

Hendriks, who has reportedly been dealing with a tear in his UCL since 2008, has been on the IL since mid-June. He was originally targeting a July 1 return. While he was not present in the series with the Giants, his return comes only a few days after his initial target return date.

Adam Engel, who left the game on June 22 with hamstring soreness, is also making his return to the active roster. Engel has appeared in 56 games for the Sox this season. He is hitting .240/.297/.349 on the year, with 11 doubles and one home run.

In corresponding moves, the Chicago White Sox have optioned both Adam Haseley and Jimmy Lambert to Triple-A Charlotte.
