Banks didn't make his MLB debut until his age-30 season but has been a reliable lefty option in the White Sox bullpen since getting the call in 2022. The southpaw owns a 4.13 ERA and 10.3 K/9 across 48 innings for the South Siders this season.
The Phillies own MLB's best record and have World Series aspirations. Banks will now have an opportunity to pitch in meaningful games down the stretch of the 2024 campaign.
William Bergolla, a 19-year-old second baseman, was the No. 11 prospect in the Phillies' system, per MLB Pipeline. The left-handed hitter is slashing .295/.350/.385 with 12 doubles, one home run, and 29 RBIs across 267 plate appearances with High-A Jersey Shore this season.
The White Sox have loaded up on young infielders this deadline, having acquired three from the Los Angeles Dodgers in a three-team trade on Monday.
