Dunn, 29, is the definition of a reclamation project as he hasn't pitched in the big leagues since 2022.
The Freeport, New York native began his MLB career with the Seattle Mariners and spent three seasons there before joining the Cincinnati Reds. Dunn touts a 4.44 ERA, 1.406 WHIP, and 113 strikeouts against 86 walks in 133.2 innings spanning 32 big-league appearances.
A right shoulder strain caused Dunn to miss most of the 2023 season as he appeared in just three games and logged a 5.40 ERA in 3.1 innings across two minor-league levels. He underwent shoulder surgery after his brief return bid and didn't pitch in 2024.
Dunn will likely serve as organizational depth for the White Sox, but he'll get a chance to show he's healthy during Spring Training.
