Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees suffered an early postseason exit in 2025, falling in the divisional round to the Toronto Blue Jays. Despite the team’s struggles, Judge delivered the most complete season of his career.

After years of postseason inconsistency, the 33-year-old slugger raised his game in October. Over seven appearances, he collected 13 hits in 26 at-bats, including one home run and seven RBIs. New York’s downfall came from inconsistent pitching, not a lack of offensive production.

Judge’s regular season was dominant, even after missing two weeks with a right elbow flexor strain. In 152 games, he led the league with a .331 batting average, .457 on-base percentage and 1.144 OPS. He crushed 53 home runs, drove in 114 runs and drew 124 walks, the most in the American League.

The Yankees will enter 2026 with pressure mounting to deliver a championship, but Judge’s return to form in October and his sustained excellence throughout the season offer a strong foundation for what comes next.

On Tuesday, Judge was officially named a finalist for American League MVP according to Baseball Writers' Association of America (BBWAA). The Yankees shared Judge’s nomination on X after an incredible tenth season with the organization.

“Our Captain has been named a 2025 AL MVP Finalist! ‍⚖️ Congrats, @TheJudge44 ” the team wrote.

Judge is once again in the running for the American League’s top individual honor, a familiar position for one of the game’s most feared hitters. His sustained excellence has made MVP consideration almost routine, but the 2025 campaign stands out for how complete his impact was.

While Cal Raleigh of the Seattle Mariners presents a strong case after a historic season behind the plate, Judge’s offensive dominance speaks for itself. His ability to control the strike zone, hit for power and reach base at an elite clip separates him from the rest.

Over ten seasons, Judge has built a resume that includes seven All-Star selections and four Silver Slugger Awards. Yet the ultimate goal remains unchanged. With the Yankees still chasing their first title since 2009, Judge enters the offseason focused on leading the charge. His October performance showed he is ready for the moment. Now, it is about turning individual accolades into team success.
