Yankees announcer breaks out awesome HR call for new outfielder

Longtime New York Yankees radio broadcaster John Sterling has added yet another memorable home run call to his endless repertoire this spring.

With first-year Yankee outfielder Franchy Cordero's recent hot streak continuing with a game-tying solo blast on Wednesday against the Cleveland Guardians, baseball fans were blessed with this gem.

Not only did Cordero's home run tie the game and help New York earn a come-from-behind 4-3 win, but it put the 28-year-old in some impressive company.

Cordero hasn't even been with the Yankees for one month yet, as he signed with the club on Opening Day on March 30. With fellow outfielder Harrison Bader on the injured list, Cordero has stepped in and made seven starts in the team's first 12 games.

After Wednesday's effort, he still leads the Bronx Bombers in RBIs (11) and moves into a tie with reigning AL MVP Aaron Judge for the team lead in home runs with four, all of which have come in the last five contests.

If Cordero keeps swinging the bat the way he's been doing, Sterling should have many more chances to "bet the ranchy on Franchy."
