With just over three weeks until Opening Day, the calls are growing louder for the Yankees to make a change. Add YES Network broadcaster and ESPN talk show host Michael Kay to the list of those who believe the Yankees have to do something about Jasson Dominguez.

It’s time to put Dominguez back in his comfort zone (center field).

"The reasons for it just make no sense to me," Kay said on his midday show on ESPN New York. "You're going to take this guy out of his comfort zone so that Trent Grisham can be in his comfort zone the 30-40 games that he plays. How does that make any sense?"

Dominguez is being given every chance to win the starting left field job, but he has looked lost. His latest mistake came Sunday when he allowed a ball over his head, then took a long run to the warning track, misjudged it, hopped, and let the ball drop off his glove.

"Last year in left field at Yankee Stadium, it was a mess. I'm not ripping the kid. He's playing out of position," Kay said. "So why put him in left now when his bat is going to be a really important factor on a team that doesn’t have Juan Soto anymore?"

Last season, the Yankees had to play Alex Verdugo, who was not hitting, in left field during the playoffs because Dominguez's defense was a liability.

Perhaps more concerning is that Dominguez has not hit this spring. He went into Tuesday’s game against the Phillies in spring training, hitting 3-for-19 (.158).

Former MLB outfielder Cameron Maybin suggested the Yankees play Cody Bellinger in left field and let Dominguez settle in at center field so his bat can get going.
