Yesterday, Texas Rangers manager Chris Woodward made an interesting comment after his club lost to the New York Yankees in game one of a doubleheader.

The game ended with Yankees shortstop Gleyber Torres hitting a walk-off home run to right field, where there’s a uniquely short porch at Yankee Stadium.

Woodward went on to say that that home run ball would have been an easy out in any other ballpark.

He even went as far as to say that Yankee Stadium was a “little league” ballpark.

Yankees announcer Michael Kay had the perfect joke as he tweeted a picture of the Rangers warming up before Monday’s game with a caption that read, “What a day here at Williamsport.”

Williamsport, Pennsylvania is where the Little League World Series takes place each year.

Well Played, Michael

This was perfectly said and perfectly timed by Michael Kay.

What a way to roast your opponent, right?

This is an absolutely hilarious joke that Kay made, and it really makes Woodward look silly after his comments following yesterday’s game.

It’s interesting that he chose to liken Yankee Stadium to a little league field, given all its history and the team that plays there.

This is the Yankees we’re talking about, not some little league team.

But in all seriousness, it does look to be a gorgeous day in New York City.

It should be an exciting matchup today on this “little league” field.

We’ll see if any home runs fly out in right field and prompt Woodward to work his magic again.

You never what you’re going to get.

But this should be a fun day at “Williamsport.”

What a perfectly played joke.
