Yankees get unfortunate Giancarlo Stanton injury update

The New York Yankees enter 2025 spring training with a huge question looming around slugger Giancarlo Stanton.

It was reported that Stanton is battling with discomfort in both elbows with manager Aaron Boone likening it to tennis elbow.

When speaking earlier in the week, Boone said he "wouldn't put any timeline on it." Stanton also said that he would have to "deal" with the pain, so it's not promising for the Yankees designated hitter.

“So [if you ask] when did it feel good, when did it feel bad, there’s always a pain level there,” Stanton said. “You’ve got to deal with that. It’s just the wisest point to give time right now.”

On Wednesday, Boone spoke more about the injury, per Brendan Kuty of The Athletic

"Boone said there's no timetable for when Giancarlo Stanton (tennis elbows) may resume baseball activities," Kuty wrote on X.

Stanton appeared in 114 regular-season games last year for the Yankees, hitting .233 with 27 home runs and 72 RBI.

However, Boone saying there is no timetable is not encouraging for the Yankees slugger.

The Yankees kick off the regular season on March 27 against the Milwaukee Brewers, which gives Stanton just over a month to get ready for Opening Day.
