Yankees Post Clear Reaction to Big Aaron Judge Announcement

There's no doubt that the New York Yankees are facing a lot of high expectations this season, as ESPN BET currently gives them the second-best odds (+500) to win the World Series.

They've certainly done well so far, sitting in first place in the AL East with a 36-22 record and a plus-98 run differential.

Of course, much of that success falls on the shoulders of outfielder and six-time All-Star, Aaron Judge, who on Tuesday was revealed as the Al Player of the Month for May in an announcement from MLB.

Quickly after earning the honor, the Yankees reacted with their own social media post, saying, "An open-and-shut case Congrats to @TheJudge44 on being named AL Player of the Month for May!"

It's certainly an impressive accomplishment for Judge, but at this point, it's becoming a regular sight, as this is the second straight month he's won it and the 11th time in his career.

It's certainly justified, though, because in the calendar month of May, he appeared in 26 games, racking up 99 at-bats, 36 hits, 11 home runs, 25 runs scored, 18 RBIs and 17 walks while slashing .364/.453/.798 with a 1.251 OPS.

Judge's performance has helped him emerge as an MVP favorite, and in an article posted to MLB.com on Tuesday, it also revealed that the Yankees outfielder received 40 first-place votes for AL MVP among a panel of 41 experts.

If he does end up taking home the award, then Judge would become the first member of the Yankees to win MVP in back-to-back years since rightfielder Roger Maris did so in 1960 and 1961.
