Yankees Star Fires Back At Critics Of Controversial Bat

The New York Yankees have come under some fire for the use of their "Torpedo" bats to start the season. With some fans arguing that the Bronx Bombers are cheating after scoring 36 runs over their first three games.

The Yanks bats brutalized Milwaukee's starting rotation over the weekend. But it should be noted that only a few players were using the new innovation and that the sticks don't go against MLB bat code.

One of those players, Jazz Chisholm Jr., who's batting .417 with three home runs and six RBI on the year, defended himself and his team over the allegations. Posting to X:

"Okay explanation the barrel is bigger and within mlb regulation! For the idiots that say it's moved to the label you're an idiot! Nobody is trying to get jammed you just move the wood from the parts you don't use to the parts you do! You're welcome no more stress for y'all !"

Clearly some folks have been rubbed the wrong way by the MIT-produced bats and they let their voices be heard in Chisholm's mentions.

"You could've just said 'I'm not good enough to get the barrel to the ball so I moved the barrel,'" a user replied.

"You seem awfully defensive," another commented.

"I am taking Jazz's word, but plently of broadcasts and former players said it was moved to the label," a fan posted.

"Jazz its okay you can use it just not the other yankees [who] actually have talent."

"Good players don't need AI generated bowling pin bats to hit tho," another person argued.

"I'm sick and tired of you guys cheating and getting away with it," another user claimed.

As different as it is, there's no real reason to be upset if it's something within the rulebook and available to every other team in the league (and this is coming from a Red Sox fan).

Next up for the Bombers is another three-game interleague series with the Arizona Diamondbacks starting Tuesday.
