'You’ve Got to Be Joking;' Milwaukee Brewers Furious After History-Making Pitcher Demoted to Triple-A

The Milwaukee Brewers are 26-28, sit in third place in the National League Central Division, and are 6.5 games back of the hated Chicago Cubs, who currently hold the top spot. Indeed, it has been a frustrating season for Brewers fans, who have become accustomed to their team competing for a postseason spot for the nearly a decade.

Over the course of the 2025 season, Milwaukee has seen players that they expected to be key contributors either get hurt and miss extended periods of time, or start off the season in slumps that they have not been able to break.

Indeed, there have been very few things that Brewers fans have been able to hang their hats on their year in terms of positive news from the team. But one of those things has been the historic performances of rookie starting pitcher Logan Henderson.

Milwaukee Brewers Rookie Logan Henderson Has Made MLB and Franchise History Already This Year

After their starting rotation suffered a plethora of injuries, leaving Freddy Peralta as the only healthy starter after the first month of the season, Milwaukee turned to its farm system to provide some band-aids while they waited for their veterans to return.

This decision has resulted in the pleasant rises of rookies Chad Patrick and Logan Henderson. The latter of these, Henderson, has been on an historic run since first being called up to the Majors.

Through four starts, he is 3-0 with a 1.71 ERA. While he pitched five innings and struck out six in his most recent start, a no-decision in the Brewers win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday, he has been impressive every time he has taken the mound.

After his third start, Henderson became the first pitcher in the baseball’s modern era to earn a win and strike out at least seven batters in each of his first three appearances. With 29 strikeouts and just four runs allowed through four starts, Henderson is just the second pitcher since 1901 to meet or exceed those numbers as a rookie in his first four starts. The other was Peralta in 2013.

The Milwaukee Brewers Have Sent Logan Henderson to Triple-A

Despite his brilliance, though, the Brewers have made the decision to option Henderson back to Triple-A Nashville. To take his spot on the roster, Milwaukee has activated DL Hall from the 60-day injured list.

And Milwaukee’s fans are understandably livid:

Hall has been out all season with a lat strain he suffered in Spring Training. Last year, his first season with Milwaukee, he was 1-2 with a 5.02 ERA in 13 games (seven starts).
