Renan Ferreira proved he was more than just a vicious knockout artist in August 2021.

The 6ft 8in Brazilian squared off against Stuart Austin on the undercard of a PFL event in Hollywood, Florida.

Renan Ferreira‘s opponent entered the bout with a high-profile win on his 16-4 pro MMA record.

Austin was the first man to beat Tom Aspinall. The current UFC heavyweight champion tapped out after being caught in a heel hook when they fought as heavyweight prospects all the way back in June 2015.

Renan Ferreira: The merciful KO artist

Renan Ferreira made it look easy as he wiped out the only man with a legitimate win over Tom Aspinall, whose two other MMA defeats were due to DQ and injury.

Stuart Austin didn’t even get the chance to throw a single shot before he was brutally knocked out.

Ferreira opened up with low leg kicks and a front kick to the body of his English opponent.

After 28 seconds, the Brazilian leapt in with a jab and follow-up right hand to put Austin to sleep.

Ferreira followed his opponent to the floor and lined up an absolutely brutal follow-up shot,

Thankfully, he was merciful enough to hold back until referee Keith Peterson dived between them and called off the fight after just 31 seconds.

Footage of their fight has since been shared on YouTube, where fans have commented on Ferreira’s kindness as much as his KO power.

Renan Ferreira’s return

Renan Ferreira hasn’t fought since suffering a TKO defeat to Francis Ngannou in October 2024.

The 36-year-old will return in another massive fight at PFL Champions Series 4 in Lyon, France, on Saturday night.

Ferreira will meet former Bellator light heavyweight champion Vadim Nemkov in the main event.

Whoever wins their fight will be crowned the inaugural PFL heavyweight champion and be in line to face Ngannou when he returns to MMA in 2026.
