Alex Pereira has a long way to go on the scales before his rematch with Magomed Ankalaev.

Last March, Ankalaev claimed the belt by unanimous decision at UFC 313.

Now, he will face ‘Poatan’ again for the light heavyweight title at UFC 320 on October 4.

With two weeks to go before the fight, Pereira posted a video on Instagram, revealing his current weight and emphasising how much he still needs to cut to make 205lbs.

Right now, Pereira weighs in at 106.2kg, which is just over 234lbs.

The Brazilian star faces a tough challenge ahead, needing to lose 29lbs before the fight.

Pereira has never shied away from major weight cuts before, so it is not out of character for him.

Even so, there were plenty of comments online from fans worried about how he would handle the cut this time.

“Seems very heavy two weeks out,” one fan noted.

A second fan wrote: “Insane they lose that much water weight.”

Others questioned the process itself.

“Why is he cutting 30 pounds in two weeks?” one asked, while another insisted: “UFC must make illegal cutting.”

A fifth fan posted: “So this mad lad is gonna cut 15 kilos in 2 weeks? Insane.”

What’s on tap for UFC 320

UFC 320 promises a busy evening at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili will defend his title for the third time in the co-main event.

Cory Sandhagen stands between ‘The Machine’ and his quest to be remembered as one of the top fighters ever at 135lbs.

Earlier in the night, Alex Pereira’s former opponents Jiri Prochazka and Khalil Rountree Jr. are expected to clash in what looks like a title eliminator.
