Alex Pereira leads moment of silence for Jon Jones' late brother Arthur Jones following UFC 320 win

Alex Pereira managed to reclaim his light heavyweight title in dominant fashion at UFC 320. Alongside his imposing performance, Pereira made headlines after initiating a moment of silence for Jon Jones' late brother Arthur Jones following his passing.

Former 3-star collegiate recruit and Defensive tackle in the NFL, Arthur Jones, sadly died on October 3. The Super Bowl XLVII champion was just 39 at the time of his death, passing away at his home in Pompey, New York. While his cause of death hasn't been officially released to the public, rumors of an active defibrillator in Jones' home hint at a potential heart issue.

Tributes have been pouring in for the Jones family since the news broke. Adding to the long list of notable names sending their prayers to those affected was Alex Pereira, who made the time during his post-fight celebrations at UFC 320 to pay his respects.

"I had a whole speech prepared tonight," Periera said following his redemption title victory over Magomed Ankalaev on Saturday evening. "I talked to my team over it, but we got some news recently."

"Something's happened. So, I want to give my respect to Jon Jones and his whole family. I want to ask everyone here and everyone at home to take a moment of silence for his brother."

Alex Pereira is one of the biggest and most beloved names in the sport, and acts of kindness like this one show exactly why he is a favorite among MMA fans.

Jon Jones posted on social media for the first time in over a week. Jones has understandably been quiet, dealing with his family trauma away from the spotlight, though he did manage to find the time to respond to Pereira's moment of silence.

"Wow, Alex," Jones said in a post on X in response to Alex Pereira's gesture at UFC 320.
