Amanda Nunes has commented on her cancelled comeback fight for the first time.
‘The Lioness’ was supposed to face Kayla Harrison in her first fight since June 2023 at UFC 324 in Las Vegas.
Unfortunately, their bantamweight title clash was recently called off after Harrison got injured.
Still, Amanda Nunes has traveled to ‘Sin City’, where she continues to train with a smile on her face.
On Saturday, Amanda Nunes shared photos of her family and teammates traveling to America on Instagram.
Once they arrived, the former dual-weight champion hit the gym with Priscila Cachoeira.
The bantamweight veteran is set to fight Klaudia Syguła at UFC Vegas 114 in two weeks time.
Rather than worry about her comeback falling through, the former dual-weight UFC champion is focused on helping Cachoeira get a win on February 7.
“Hello everybody, [it’s] fight week,” Nunes said while walking on a treadmill.
“I’m still in the vibe. Only one thing changed. No fight.
“It is what it is. Let’s move on.
“I’m still doing everything. Let’s go.”
Kayla Harrison fought back tears when she spoke out for the first time on her UFC 324 withdrawal.
The 135lb UFC queen was sitting in a hospital bed after undergoing surgery on a serious neck injury.
“I just wanted to give a bit of an update on my end, yeah, this is a tough one,” Harrison said on Friday.
“I had to have surgery on my neck yesterday here in New York City with the specialist, Dr Kim.
“So obviously, in lieu of that, we’re gonna have to reschedule the fight.
“I just want to say I’m sorry. I’m sorry to Amanda, I was really looking forward to it.
“And I just want to thank everyone. I want to thank the UFC for taking such good care of me.
“This is day one of recovery, and the road back starts now.”
