Artem Lobov’s $7.5 Million Lawsuit Against McGregor

Artem Lobov has filed a lawsuit against Conor McGregor for $7.5 million over the Proper No. Twelve Irish whiskey brand, stating he is owed money. 

Lobov alleges that he is owed money worth 5% of the share proceeds from the company’s sale in 2021, which was reportedly worth $600 million. Lobov claims he played a part in co-founding the whiskey. Further claims are that he had a handshake agreement in which McGregor promised him a 5% stake. Lobov alleged he has WhatsApp messages as evidence to prove his claims. Lobov states he attempted to resolve the issue privately by providing evidence to McGregor. McGregor allegedly offered him $1 million—a sum Lobov declined.

“Obviously, things are not good between me and Conor. We always had each other’s back. I feel like I showed him unmatched loyalty, I would dare for him to name anyone from all of his mates now, before whenever, who was more loyal to him than I was. I did everything for him. Whenever we would do camps, I was the only one to never accept a cent from him. There would always be money paid to everybody in the camps, and rightfully so, because it was hard work. But I’d always turn it down and say ‘Conor, I’m not taking this, and I’m not taking money from you,” Lobov stated 

“We have all of this in our WhatsApp messages. I negotiated the deal, got the distillery on board, and Conor shook my hand saying, ‘Artem, 5% is yours — no matter what.’ But later, he just turned around and said, ‘F*** off, you have nothing to do with the whiskey. He told me I had no connection to the whiskey, even though he once offered me a million. Said it was ‘just because’ and meant nothing. I’m not just after the money — I want recognition as a co-founder. Without my work, this deal wouldn’t exist. But I was thrown aside. “No money. No thanks. Not even a ‘Artem helped,” Lobov said
